Designed by Matthew Alden and me, ‘Go Prompt Yourself’ is a personal project and poster series that explores what it means to create. We hoped to articulate the sometimes nebulous feeling that creative folk like ourselves have in the current landscape.

At the heart of this project are what we’re calling ‘impossible prompts’ (special thanks to Rohit Iyer for coining the term) - prompts that could technically be typed into a generative AI tool, but can’t truly be acted on by the model.

It was important to us that the posters had both a digital and analogue aesthetic, so we experimented with the technique of photocopying photocopies. This inception-style approach resulted in unique textures that added to the overarching concept.

The posters were risograph printed by Duplikat, an independent Margate-based studio.
